Bandipora, June 22: Authorities in Kashmir sealed 12 unauthorised clinics in North Kashmir’s Banipora district.
These clinics were sealed in Sumbal Division of Bandipora district.
Reliable sources told news agency KNT that a team led by Block Medical Officer Bandipora, Dr Masrat Iqbal who is also the Nodal Officer for Coronaviurs along with police and Revenue officials visited a number of clinics in Sumbal Tehsil.
During the inspection some were found without any registration while others were found violating Covid-19 norms.
Sources said that 12 clinics were sealed on spot. These include 3 USG (Ultra Sonography) clinics, 5 testing labs and 4 Opthomological clinics.
Pertinently, Directorate of Health Services Kashmir has directed all Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) to constitute teams comprising of members from health services and revenue department to conduct daily inspection of all clinical establishments and diagnostic laboratories across the valley.
Complaints are pouring in about some clinical establishments and diagnostic laboratories. “Some are running without government approval while others are looting patients in the name of tests,” said an official.
Meanwhile, Chief Medical Officer Bandipora told KNT that necessary action will be taken against such establishments which are operating in violation of rules, norms, laws and without licenses or being run by incompetent persons in the district.
Most of these clinical establishments sealed today are located adjacent to Community Health Centre Sumbal. (KNT)
