Scores of 12th class students on Monday staged a protest against the school authorities in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district for what they said putting their career at stake.
The students of Arin higher secondary school staged a protest outside the office of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora to demand justice.
The protesting students said that the school authorities detained them “unnecessarily” even after allowing them to appear in the golden test.
“We were not allowed to submit exam forms for annual session of class 12th even after we appeared in the golden test. Later, we were told by the principal of the school that you will be given chance during bi-annual exams,” said Danish Rather, a student.
The students said that they were on the verge of losing an academic year as authorities at the Board of school education (BOSE) refused to accept their forms for biannual exams.
“…when we approached BOSE authorities to submit our forms for bi-annual exams we were denied the chance,” said another student.
He said that the BOSE authorities told them they were not eligible to sit in exams for bi-annual exams as there has been a delay on part of the school authorities for submitting their details with the BOSE.
“Our career is now at stake and we might lose an academic year,” said a student, while appealing the BOSE authorities to look into the matter and help save their careers.
