Aragam (Bandipora) 29 August 2017: 13 RR conducted an event under banner, ” Umeed A ray of hope for better tomorrow” in a far flung area of village Aragam of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Officer incharge while expressing his views told that, “There is a need to make fruitful contribution and to bring effective and positive changes so that this dream of education turns into reality”.
In an unstinted effort to empower the school children with good education, Army distributed educational materials, benefiting around 60 school children of 1st to 10th standard of Aragam and adjoining areas. School supply kit consisting of bags, books, geometry box’s, drawing books and crayons were distributed to orphan and under privileged children, there by ensuring that the recipient possessed necessary learning materials to enhance the educative sessions in the classroom.
This noble initiative, aims to meet the academic requirements thus ensuring quality education. The focus was on children from economically backward families who are not able to pay fee and unavailability of school supplies being the primary reasons for their absenteeism and dropouts.
A small lunch was also organised for the children and they thoroughly enjoyed the sumptuous meal.
Sarpanch, ESM’s and locals witnessed the noble event, shared their thoughts and praises the effort of Army and wishes that army continue its effort and refurbish its ongoing efforts for development of society and children.
While talking with incharge officer he told, that we are planning to organise more events on same lines in future so that dream of education turns into reality.
