Baramulla, Apr 02 (GNS): Jammu and Kashmir Police in Baramulla on Tuesday said to have apprehended two absconders, evading arrest for more than three decades in the north Kashmir district.

“Police in Baramulla have arrested two absconders who were evading their arrests from decades in case FIR Numbers 115/1997 & 03/1988 of PS Pattan & PS Tangmarg respectively,” reads a media handout issued to GNS.

“Warrant under section 512 CrPC issued by Hon’ble Court of Sub Judge JMIC Tangmarg pending with Police Station Tangmarg & Kunzer against accused persons namely Nazir Ahmad Mir son of Wali Mohammad resident of Miskeenbagh Khanyar A/P Ladoo Pampore & Ali Mohd Kawa son of Mohammad Qasim resident of Kawapora Sumbal A/P Hamdaniya Colony Bemina Srinagar were executed, who were evading their arrests from last decades, involved in case FIR Numbers 115/1997 & 03/1988 of Police Station Kunzer & Tangmarg were arrested by a special Police team under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg and consisting of SHO PS Tangmarg & Kunzer among others,” reads the handout.

“Subsequently, the arrested accused persons were produced before the Hon’ble Court of Law.”

“Our consistent actions against anti-social elements should reassure the community members that we are making every effort to keep our society free of crime. Police have resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal activities,” the handout further reads. (GNS)
