Poonch, Sept 12 (GNS): Police and security forces have arrested two persons and recovered some arms and ammunition in Mendhar area in Jammu division on Saturday, officials said.
They said acting on specific input, a joint operation was launched by Army, police to intercept the “couriers of arms, ammunitions and explosives along with other subversive material” in the Mendhar. “The material was supposed to be carried from forward area to hinterland for subversive activities,” they said.
The recoveries made include 3 Chinese pistols, six magazines, 70 pistol rounds, 11 hand grenades, one wireless set, one IED, two batteries, two flags, mobile phone, a charger , a pen drive and other related materials to IEDs.
“Further investigations are going on in this case .The consignment was sent from (Pakistan administered Kashmir),” DIG Rajouri Poonch Range Vivek Gupta told GNS. (GNS)
