Ganderbal 13 Feb (KNZ):The inhabitants of Dar Mohala village in Peerpora area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district have locked a power receiving station in the area.They said PDD has failed to repair functional transformer of their area.

“Our areas is reeling under darkness as PDD failed to repair the transformer damaged from last 15 days ago.We are facing a lot of difficulties due to unavailability of electricity in this harsh winter,” a local resident said

They added that the 100KV tranformer was installed yesterday night but It was not functioning properly.They don’t properly check,if the transformer was fully repaired ?”

They said “We have been forced to lock the receiving station” as the authorities had “failed to provide power transformer to the area”.

The receiving station was locked by the residents on Wednesday morning and it has affected the power supply to more than Twenty Five villages including Peerpora,Kachan,Harpora,Hakimgund,Kuistoripora Hathbura,Shallabugh,Paribal Chundina,Sindbal,Kurag,Sehpora,Gogjigund and Hathbura

The locals said they won’t let the authorities unlock the receiving station till the area is provided with power transformer

When Kashmir News Zone-KNZ contacted JE STD Peerpora Mr Aadil Ahmad he said “No body from PDD come here to solve the issue.People are facing electric crises​ in this area and they have locked the receiving station.”

When Kashmir News Zone-KNZ contacted, Assistant Executive Engineer Mr Syed Khursheed he said ,”law enforcing authorities should come forward and open the station and legal action should be taken.”KNZ
