Budgam, Mar 08 (KNO): Budgam police has arrested three persons for attempting to rape a woman panch.
According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Police Station Khan-Sahab have arrested three persons after receiving a written complaint from a woman (name withheld), who is a Panch of ward 2 of Bugroo Block of Budgam district.
Official from police department told KNO that in her complaint, she had stated that Showkat Ahmad Ganie his wife BDC Khan Sahib and Mukhtar Ahmad Darand his wife BDC Chairman Parnewa motivated her to come to Jammu saying that a meeting is being organised there.
“Showkat Ganaiee and Mukhtar Mir both informed me that BDC chairpersons of block Khansahab and Parnewa (their wives) wanted me to leave for Jammu for some Panchayat related work.
I being the Panchayat member, obliged. Showkat Ganaie and Mukhtar Mir were accompanied by one more person Babar Khan from Ichgam Budgam. In Jammu, Showkat Ganaie and Mukhtar Mir tried to assault me sexually and tried to attempt a rape despite my resistance, they molested me.” she added in her complaint.
Police officials told KNO that police station Khansahab took cognizance of the complaint and arrested all the three accused persons.
