Ganderbal 18 Dec (KNZ):On the Direction of SDM Kangan Javaid Ahmad Rather,a team of Geology Mining Department along with Gutlibagh Police headed by District Mineral Officer Ganderbal Er Zulfikar Mohd Shafi raided several areas and seized 4 vehicles including 3 tractors and 01 JCB used in illegal mining, transportation of raw materials illegally extracted.
In line with zero tolerance for illegal mining,a team conducted raids on different areas of Ganderbal district to check illegal mining, extraction and transportation of raw materials on 17 and 18 December.
Three tractors and one JCB were seized from Wussan,Chinner,Gutlibagh and Kangan area. These vehicles were being used in illegal mining, extraction, transportation of raw materials illegally extracted during this operation
According to reports residents of Chinner complains illegal excavation on State land and today team raided the area and seized tractor.
When Kashmir News Zone-KNZ contacted DMO Ganderbal Er Zulfikar Mohd Shafi said ,“we are trying to curb mining that is taking place during the wee hours and evening,” he said, adding that it has become a headache for the administration.
He told that all of his staff has been put on alert to monitor illegal mining that has been looting the public resources.
He further said that all the illegal mining cases would be dealt with under the rules.KNZ
