GANDERBAL, DECEMBER 15: Under the supervision of, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba, 36 polling parties for District Development Council (DDC) and Panchayat bye-elections for Phase-7th were dispatched to their polling stations along with election material and Ballot Boxes amidst heavy security from Government Polytechnic College, Hatbura (Distribution cum Collection center for Phase-7th) here today.
The polling for the Phase-7th is being held on December 16, 2020 for 01 DDC constituency of Sherpathri, 01 vacant seats of Sarpanch and 10 vacant seats of Panch.
As many as 42 Candidates are in fray which include 17 candidates for DDC, 3 for Sarpanch and 22 for Panch seats for the Phase 7th.
It was informed that a total 36 polling stations are established at 19 locations in which 14784 electorals shall exercise their franchise.
Meanwhile ADC Ganderbal appealed to the general public of District Ganderbal to participate in the election process with same enthusiasm and make it a grand success for strengthening of grass root democracy.
Pertinently all essential facilities at polling stations, transportation arrangements, facilities related to COVID-19 are already put in place by the district administration for the smooth conduct of elections in the district.
