Ganderbal 21 May (KNZ):District Mineral Officer (DMO) Ganderbal, Dr Mohd Saleem has seized 4 vehicles used in illegal mining and transportation of raw materials from different areas of Ganderbal district during the raids in the last 24 hours.
The vehicles were seized during night raids conducted by the team of Geology and Mining Department at Ganderbal,Safapora and adjoining areas of the district.
The quantity of raw minerals lifted by the vehicles was also measured by the officials of Mining Department and accordingly seizure memos were issued to the violators as per extant rules.
Two vehicle has been handed over to Police Station Safapora and others were handed over to Police Station Ganderbal till realization of penalty from them through Joint Director Office Srinagar.
DMO informed that 7 vehicles have been seized in the last three day operation conducted at various location of the district.
He said that all of his staff has been put on alert to monitor illegal mining in the district.
The operation against the illegal mining and transporting is going on in different areas of the Ganderbal district.KNZ
