Ganderbal 01 July (KNZ):The residents of Upper-Wayil and other adjacent villages in Ganderbal district, expressed strong resentment against contractor for inordinate delay in completion of 1.5 Kilometre road in their locality.
They said they are facing lot of inconvenience because of it.
The residents said that the construction of this road was started in 2018 by R&B department under NABARD project “Peth Wayil” scheme but after the passage of over four years, the construction of the road is still incomplete.
“The delay in the completion of this important project is causing immense problems to the inhabitants, including women and school going children living on the side of the road,a local Mehraj u din said.
The residents said that the construction of Upper-Wayil road of completed would connect several villages together including Talie Mohalla,Kumar Mohlla,Wani Mohalla,Tawheed Abad,Urpesh,Gutlibagh, Chappergund and Sehipora
With the completion of this Road, it will significantly shorten the distance between several villages and help commuters reach their respective destinations in the shortest possible time, said another local.
He also said,“We are fed up with the slow pace of work and our hopes of seeing this road completed have died down now. We don’to know how much more time it will take authorities to complete this road,”
Locals also appealed Executive Engineer R&B Ganderbal to take strict action against contractor or black list this contractor who delayed construction work of road.
The residents have sought immediate intervention of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and DC Ganderbal in this regard so that the hardships being faced by people could end.
When Kashmir News Zone-KNZ contacted Executive Engineer R&B Ganderbal Tatheer Manzoor,he said 63% work completed till now and i already issued two notices to contractor to start work as soon as possible, now I hope work will start in coming days.KNZ
