Ganderbal 16 Feb (KNZ): In its continued efforts to curb illegal mining in the district Ganderbal, the Geology and Mining team headed by District Mineral Officer, Er Zulfikar Mohd Shafi seized 5 tractors and 2 JCB’s found involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minor minerals.
The operation was carried out by Geology and Mining Department in various areas of Ganderbal including Manigam,Wayil,lar,benhama,Bonzil,Shuhama and adjoining areas as a result of which 5 vehicles and 2 JCB’s were seized.
These vehicles were being used in illegal mining, extraction, transportation of raw materials illegally extracted during this operation.
According to reports,DMO Ganderbal along with staff today conducted raids in Bonzil,Manigam, lar and seized 3 tractors and 1 JCB.
The team also conducted raids Nagbal, Shuhama along with DO Nagbal Fayaz Ahmad during night hours and seized 2 tractors and 1 JCB.
DMO Ganderbal Er Zulfikar Mohd Shafi,said that all the illegal mining cases would be dealt with under the rules and all the things against the violators would be done by a FastTrack system.
The operation against the illegal mining and transporting is going on in different areas of the Ganderbal district.KNZ
