Srinagar, May 02 (KS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Electoral Officer Pandurang K. Pole on Thursday said that elections are being conducted peacefully across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking to the media during his visit to the historical Lal Chowk area in Srinagar, Pole as per News Agency Kashmir Scroll said that the upcoming elections in Kashmir are going on smoothly, similar to other parts of the country. He stated that voting will be held on May 13 for the Srinagar parliamentary constituency and on May 20 for the Baramulla parliamentary constituency.
Pole expressed optimism that voter turnout will be good this time, and urged people to exercise their democratic right and duty to vote for the candidate of their choice. He emphasized that voting is not just a right but also a responsibility.
The Chief Electoral Officer assured that the election department is ensuring a smooth and peaceful electoral process throughout Jammu and Kashmir.(KS)
