Ganderbal 17 May (KNZ):In a bid to prevent illegal mining, the Department of Geology and Mining started a drive against illegal miners by disconnecting the road leading to Nallah Sindh in Ganderbal District.
An official said,on the Direction of District Mining Officer Dr Mohd Saleem , a team of Geology and Mining Department Ganderbal along with Gutlibagh Police cut down many roads at Nunner and adjoining areas to stop illegal Mining and seized 3 tractors on the spot.
District Mining officer Dr Mohd Saleem has asked all those associated with mining activities to abide by the rules and take necessary permissions before doing any type of mining activity like excavation, transportation and dumping of minor minerals.
He also requested the general public to extend all possible cooperation to the department.KNZ
