Bandipora : As part of an ongoing initiative against misuse of Prescription Drugs, today on 21/06/2024 in a joint action, Drugs Control Department (DCD) District Bandipora along with District Police Bandipora apprehended a person who have purchased a medicine containing Pregabaline from a Medical Shop without Prescription. A swift action has been taken against the owner namely Mr. ALTAF AHMAD DAR S/o: SONA ULLAHA DAR R/o: GAROORA BANDIPORA
Prop./Qualified Person of M/s NEW DAR CHEMISTS AND DRUGGISTS,Ground Floor Shop No 14, Near New District Hospital Bandipora for dispensing Pregabaline containing capsules among youth. Notice has been issued against the proprietor of the said medical shop and the said shop has been closed down till further orders for violation of conditions of licence and government directives. Drug Control Department, District Bandipora will not tolerate such kind violationsby the Licensee. All the Chemists of district Bandipora are directed not to dispense any drug with out prescription and check the authenticity of the prescriptions containing pregabaline, Narcotic and Psychotropic Substances and Insulin syringes. Also Wholesale Distributors are warned not to distribute medicines to unlicenced Medical Shops. Any violation of Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940 and Rules thereunder will lead to the suspension/cancellation of the drug licence.
