Anantnag, Aug 4: A road accident occurred at the Air Strip on National Highway (NHW) in Bijbehara in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Sunday.

According to reports reaching said , a Tata Mobile with registration number JK21C-8406 and a Sumo with registration number JK16-0948 collided, causing injuries to the driver and passengers of the Sumo.

The injured individuals were promptly transported to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bijbehara for initial medical treatment.The extent of their injuries is currently unknown.

The injured persons have been identified as: Rumisa (32), wife of Isstitaq Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Sonamarg, Abdul Qayoom Bairan (40), son of Nazir Ahmed, resident of Kangan, Azra (3), daughter of Irshad Ahmad Sheikh,Ishrat (20), daughter of Reyaz Ahmad Sheikh,Salreen (32), wife of Nisar Ahmad Khan,Ahkam (5), son of Nisar Ahmad Khan, Arhan (4), son of Ishtiyaq Ahmad Khan,Imad (7), son of Ishtiyaq Ahmad Khan,,Usman (1), son of Nisar Ahmad Khan, all residents of Kangan Ganderbal.

All injured individuals were initially treated at SDH Bijbehara and later referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for advanced treatment.

The cause of the accident is under investigation, and further details are awaited.The authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution while driving on the NHW, especially in areas with high traffic volume.

Meanwhile police took the cognizance of this accident.
