SRINAGAR: A local court in Srinagar on Thursday ordered the attachment of assets belonging to a defiant construction firm, M/S Hassan Road Construction Co. Pvt Ltd, in a case related to the execution of an MSME award.
According to Srinagar-based news gathering agency Kashmir Dot Com, the Court of Additional District Judge (Bank Cases) Srinagar, Arvind Sharma, ordered the attachment in response to an application filed by M/S Oorja Engergy Engineering Services (Hyderabad) Private Limited, through its counsel Advocate Feroz Parray and Shahzad Saleem seeking the execution of an award dated January 17, 2023.
The award, likely issued by the Micro and Small Enterprises Facilitation Council under Section 18 of the MSME Act, was in favor of Oorja Engergy.
The judgment debtor, the construction firm, had failed to take necessary steps to challenge the award, prompting the court to order the attachment of its movable assets, including the HRCC Mechdam Plant Lasjan and HK Hyundai Showroom Athwajan.
Additionally, the court directed the Special Tehsildar Recoveries Srinagar to attach the firm’s movable properties and submit an inventory with proper valuation.
The Branch Manager of J&K Bank, Polo View Srinagar branch, was also ordered to attach the firm’s bank account. (KDC)
