Sopore, Sep 30 (KNO): The Returning Officer (RO) of Sopore, S A Raina on Monday said that no concrete evidence has been found yet regarding the alleged distribution of money during the election campaign.
Speaking with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), RO Sopore, Raina who is ADC also said that they have taken cognizance of the incident, and a preliminary investigation is ongoing.
Raina clarified that as of now, no substantial proof has been uncovered. “So far, nothing concrete has been found. We will act accordingly as the investigation progresses.”
Raina added that they won’t allow such things and action will be taken following concrete evidence.
The statement comes after a video surfaced on social media in which an elderly man alleged that before few days a group of Awami Itehad Party (AIP) workers came to his home and tried to bribe him with money which he refused.
The allegations have caused a stir in the local political scene, as both parties accuse each other of attempting to influence voters through unlawful means.
Authorities have assured the public that the matter is being handled seriously, and a legal action will follow based on the investigation’s findings—(KNO)
