GANDERBAL, NOVEMBER 26: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir today chaired a meeting in the VC room of the DC Office to review the progress of the PM Vishwakarma scheme in the district.
During the meeting, the General Manager, District Industries Centre (DIC), Bilal Mukhtar, briefed the DC on the current progress, including the registration of beneficiaries at Gram Panchayat and Urban Local Body levels.
The DC emphasized the importance of expediting the scheme’s implementation to ensure maximum coverage. He directed the Rural Development Department (RDD) to achieve saturation of the scheme within the next few weeks to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left out.
To enhance the scheme’s impact, the DC instructed the Principals of ITI Ganderbal and ITI Kangan to prioritize quality training for registered beneficiaries, ensuring they acquire the necessary skills to achieve optimal outcomes.
Additionally, officers from the MSME department were tasked with ensuring the timely delivery of toolkits to beneficiaries who have successfully completed their training programs.
The DC underlined the significance of the PM Vishwakarma scheme in empowering skilled artisans and workers, enabling them to contribute effectively to the local economy.
He urged all departments involved to maintain coordination and work diligently to meet the scheme’s objectives.
The meeting was attended by key stakeholders overseeing the scheme’s implementation including GM DIC, EO Municipal Council Ganderbal, ACP, LDM and others.
