GANDERBAL, NOVEMBER 26: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir, today chaired a meeting of the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT) here to review the utilization of DMFT funds in the district.
The meeting focused on implementing asset creation projects in line with the guidelines of the Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY) to ensure maximum community welfare through DMFT funding.
During the discussion, the DC emphasized the strategic deployment of DMFT funds to drive meaningful development across key sectors such as education, healthcare, social welfare, water supply, and infrastructure.
He urged all departments to identify and prioritize projects that address critical needs, particularly drinking water, primary healthcare, and educational facilities, ensuring lasting benefits for the local community.
Highlighting the importance of DMFT initiatives, the DC stated that the focus must remain on high-impact projects that can transform lives, especially in areas affected by mining activities. Sustainable growth and addressing essential needs must guide the allocation of these funds to improve the quality of life for residents.
The DC emphasized the departments to adopt a collaborative approach, ensuring the effective and transparent use of DMFT funds for sustainable and inclusive development in the district.
The review meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, Additional Deputy Commissioner Gulzar Ahmad, Chief Planning Officer, District Mineral Officer (DMFT Member Secretary), District Social Welfare Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, and other DMFT members.
