Srinagar, November 30: Parents across Kashmir are raising concerns over the practice of private schools conducting interviews with children before granting admission to pre-nursery, nursery and LKG classes. Many parents believe this process is unnecessary and creates undue pressure on both children and their families.

While talking to Gulistan News, Director of School Education Kashmir Dr. Tassaduq Hussain addressed the grievances of parents, stating that the National Education Policy(NEP) prohibits conducting interviews with children.

Dr. Tasaduq clarified, “If any school is engaging in such practices, they are likely interacting with parents instead. We will address this issue in a meeting and issue clear directions shortly.”

Parents have urged the government and educational authorities to take swift action to end this practice and make the admission process fair and stress-free for young children.

Following the Director’s statement, it is expected that formal directions will soon be issued to address the concerns and ensure transparency in the admission process.–(Gulistan News)
