Srinagar, Nov 30 (NVI): As the winter is knocking at the door in J&K, the Border Security force (BSF) is intensifying its efforts to prevent infiltration attempts along the Line of Control (LoC).
Ashok Yadav, the Inspector General of BSF Kashmir Frontier, addressed concerns regarding the possibility of increased terrorist activity expected before the snow blocks traditional infiltration routes.
Talking to reporters here, Yadav said: “Terrorist infiltration peaks right before winter sets in. The BSF in collaboration with the Army, carefully strategizes to seal vulnerable points along the LoC, ensuring any infiltration attempts are thwarted.”
He further said that the BSF’s operational plans are driven by timely intelligence inputs from multiple agencies, allowing for a comprehensive approach to security.
“Though militants are stationed at launch pads across the border, our strategic dominance over the area ensures we can effectively disrupt any attempts,” he said.
Yadav also highlighted the challenges posed by the region’s difficult terrain and unpredictable weather.
“The winter months bring increased challenges, but our forces are prepared. We maintain a strong presence along the LoC and are equipped to deal with any threats,” he stated.
To address these threats, the BSF has adopted a multi-layered strategy. This includes enhanced surveillance capabilities, including thermal imaging, night patrols, and ground sensors, which work in tandem with Army operations to strengthen defense efforts. Yadav emphasized the importance of inter-agency coordination, which has significantly improved the region’s security. “With strengthened defenses and solid cooperation with the Army, we are confident in our ability to safeguard the region from any external threat,” he said.—(News Vibes of India)
