GANDERBAL, DECEMBER 17: Sankalp Hub, Department of Social Welfare in Collaboration with National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), today organized an awareness camp on women centric schemes at Kondbal, Ganderbal.

The camp aimed to educate women about various women-centric schemes, the prevention of sexual harassment at the workplace (POSH Act), and the functioning of the SHE-Box portal.

During the camp, experts highlighted several women-centric schemes, including Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), which provides financial assistance to pregnant and lactating mothers, and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP), aimed at addressing the declining child sex ratio and promoting the education of the girl child.

They also discussed the Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) for promoting institutional deliveries, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, a savings scheme for the girl child.

Special focus was given to the POSH Act, which ensures a safe and harassment-free workplace for women. Participants were also introduced to SHE-Box, an online platform launched by the Government of India that enables women to file complaints related to workplace harassment. The speakers emphasized the importance of knowing legal rights and mechanisms available to women to address such issues.

Representatives from Sankalp Hub and NRLM urged women to take advantage of these schemes and provisions to improve their social and economic status. The session witnessed active participation, with women engaging in discussions and seeking clarifications on various schemes and legal provisions.

The camp concluded with a call to spread awareness at the grassroots level, ensuring that every woman is empowered with the knowledge and support needed for her safety, dignity, and development.
