Ganderbal :As per the plan of Action/ Calendar of activities for the month of February, 2025 issued by J&K Legal Services Authority and under the able directions & guidance of Mr. Abdul Nasir, Chairman District Legal Services Authority, Ganderbal, Secretary District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ganderbal, Mr. Sheikh Babar Hussain, today on 15/02/2025 convened a review meeting with Panel Lawyers of District Ganderbal to discuss key issues, strategies and progress of assigned cases of legal aid beneficiaries.
The meeting focused on reviewing the progress, tackling challenges, and finding ways to improve the delivery of free and quality legal services to those who are in need of it, especially women, children, senior citizens, and victims of domestic violence.
During the meeting, Secretary, DLSA Ganderbal emphasized the importance of coordination between panel lawyers to ensure effective and competent delivery of legal services. He also discussed key aspects including, review of pending cases and strategies for effective representation of legal aid beneficiaries, enhancing access to justice for marginalized sections of society and increasing awareness about available legal services.
The Panel Lawyers presented feedback on their assigned cases. Secretary provided guidance and support, ensuring that the panel lawyers are equipped to handle complex cases and provide effective representation to legal aid beneficiaries in a humane and affectionate manner.
He also stressed all the panel lawyers to press the interim application especially in maintenance cases before the concerned courts for its timely disposal.
All the panel lawyers highlighted that their pending remuneration be released, for this Secretary DLSA assured that he will take up the matter with the J&K Legal Services Authority for release of remuneration.
Secretary District Legal Services Authority, DLSA Ganderbal urged the panel lawyers to work diligently towards ensuring that marginalized communities receive quality legal representation, and that justice is delivered in a fair, timely, and accessible manner.
