Ganderbal, May 6 :Ganderbal Police on Wednesday intensified anti-drug awareness and enforcement activities across the district under the “Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan,” officials said.
A public outreach programme was held at Dab, where DySP Headquarters Ganderbal Umer Urfan interacted with locals and highlighted the harmful effects of drug abuse, urging collective action.
Nasha Mukt padyatras were also conducted from tehsil offices in Ganderbal and Lar, with participation from officials and residents.
An awareness programme was also organised at River Hills Educational Institute in Kachan, where students and staff were sensitised about substance abuse and encouraged to spread awareness.
Meanwhile, Police Station Sonamarg, in coordination with drug control authorities, carried out inspections of medical shops during which two outlets were found violating norms and were subsequently closed.
Police reiterated their commitment to eradicate drug abuse and appealed to the public to cooperate in the campaign.
