Ganderbal, May 10:(KNC) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday strongly refuted allegations levelled by the People’s Democratic Party regarding alleged backdoor appointments, asserting that there is a “huge difference between outsourcing and backdoor recruitment.”
Responding to the criticism, Omar Abdullah said the PDP had tried to politicise both the Urdu language issue and the appointment controversy but failed to gain public support on either matter.
In a sarcastic swipe at the opposition, the Chief Minister remarked, “Should I explain it in French?” while defending his government’s stand on the issue.
He also dismissed allegations made by Mehbooba Mufti that a minister linked to the National Conference treasurer had stalled an inquiry into alleged transfer-related bribery accusations.
Clarifying the matter, Omar Abdullah said NC treasurer and Member of Parliament Shami Oberoi is neither a Union Minister nor a minister in the Jammu and Kashmir government.
The Chief Minister accused political opponents of spreading misinformation and advised them to “do their homework before lying.”
The remarks come amid an intensifying political exchange between the ruling Jammu and Kashmir National Conference and the opposition PDP over governance, recruitment practices and administrative transparency in Jammu and Kashmir, including Ganderbal.(KNC)
