Ganderbal, June 5: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Ganderbal Police organised a plantation drive at the District Police Office (DPO) Ganderbal, reaffirming its commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development.
The drive was led by senior police officers, including V.K. Birdi, Mohd Suleman Choudhary, Tejinder Singh, Rajiv Pandey, and Sudhanshu Dhama, along with other officers and officials of Ganderbal Police.
During the programme, various saplings were planted within the DPO premises to promote a greener and healthier environment. The senior officers highlighted the importance of environmental protection and stressed the need for collective efforts to preserve natural resources for future generations.
Speaking on the occasion, the officers emphasized that environmental conservation is a shared responsibility and encouraged citizens to actively participate in plantation drives and other eco-friendly initiatives. They noted that such efforts play a crucial role in combating climate change, enhancing biodiversity, and maintaining ecological balance.
The plantation drive reflected Ganderbal Police’s commitment not only to maintaining law and order but also to promoting social responsibility and environmental stewardship across the district.
