Ganderbal, June 5: Continuing its sustained crackdown on narcotics under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Ganderbal Police has attached immovable properties worth approximately ₹2.13 crore under Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act in connection with FIR No. 23/2024 registered at Police Station Lar.
The attached properties, located in Srinagar, are registered in the names of Parvaiz Ahmad Hanga and his wife Tabassum Parvaiz, residents of Karfali Mohalla, Srinagar.
According to police, investigations revealed that the properties had allegedly been acquired through proceeds generated from illicit drug trafficking. Based on evidence collected during the probe, the assets were identified as illegally acquired properties and subsequently attached under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Police officials stated that the action is aimed at dismantling the financial networks supporting the narcotics trade and depriving drug traffickers of the economic benefits derived from illegal activities. The move is expected to serve as a strong deterrent against those involved in organized drug trafficking.
Ganderbal Police reiterated its commitment to intensifying efforts against the drug menace and stated that it will continue to identify, freeze, attach and confiscate assets linked to narcotics-related crimes. The public has also been urged to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in the collective fight against drugs and contribute towards building a drug-free society.
