SSP Ganderbal Reviews Muharram Preparations, Holds Meeting with Community Leaders in Dab

 

Ganderbal, June 17: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal, Sudhanshu Dhama (IPS), on Wednesday reviewed preparations for the forthcoming Umm-i-Ashura and held a meeting with religious leaders, respected citizens, and members of the local community at Imam Bargah Dab in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

 

 

The meeting was also attended by DySP Headquarters Ganderbal, Umar Irfan (JKPS). During the interaction, police officers sought suggestions from participants regarding arrangements for religious gatherings and processions associated with Muharram observances.

 

 

Addressing the gathering, SSP Ganderbal assured full support and cooperation from the district police for the smooth, peaceful, and dignified conduct of Umm-i-Ashura.

 

 

He said that adequate security arrangements, traffic management measures, and public facilitation services would be put in place to ensure the safety and convenience of devotees.

 

 

The participants appreciated the outreach initiative by Ganderbal Police and assured their cooperation in maintaining communal harmony, peace, and law and order during the holy occasion.

 

 

Ganderbal Police reiterated its commitment to working in close coordination with religious leaders, civil society members, and the general public to ensure the observance of Umm-i-Ashura in a peaceful and congenial atmosphere.
