Srinagar, June 19(GNS): The Economic Offences Wing Kashmir of the Crime Branch J&K conducted a house search at Banit Beerwah in Budgam district in connection with an alleged land fraud case registered at Police Station EOW Kashmir.
In a handout to GNS, the CBK said that the case involves the alleged fraudulent sale of 14 kanals and 3 marlas of migrant land at Goshbugh Pattan in Baramulla district through fake agreements and criminal conspiracy.
During the investigation, five accused persons were found involved in duping the complainant of crores of rupees by attempting to sell the land without the consent of the actual owner.
The search was carried out as part of the ongoing investigation. Officials said further investigation into the matter is underway.
The public has been advised to remain vigilant against economic fraudsters and report such incidents to SSP EOW Kashmir, Crime Branch J&K. Victims can also send complaints to the official email: sspeow-kmr@jkpolice.gov.in, reads the statement.(GNS)
