DGP Nalin Prabhat Reviews Security Preparedness for Amarnath Yatra 2026

 

Srinagar, June 22: Director General of Police, Jammu & Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat on Monday chaired a high-level Security Review Meeting (SRM) to assess counter-insurgency measures and finalize security arrangements for the upcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2026.

The meeting was attended by senior officers from all security formations deployed across South Kashmir, including the Victor Force, Central Reserve Police Force, Border Security Force and Indo-Tibetan Border Police. Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) from the concerned districts also participated and presented detailed assessments of the prevailing security situation, counter-insurgency operations, and the multi-layered security framework being established for the Yatra.

During the review, the DGP evaluated the operational preparedness of all agencies and emphasized the importance of seamless coordination, intelligence sharing, and inter-agency synergy to ensure a secure and incident-free pilgrimage.

Reaffirming the commitment of the security forces, DGP Nalin Prabhat directed all formations to maintain heightened vigilance and ensure robust security measures for the safe and smooth conduct of Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2026.
