Rajouri’s Historic Bhairav Yatra Added to National Heritage Inventory; LG Hails Recognition

Srinagar, July 15(KNZ/TMJ) : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday welcomed the inclusion of Rajouri’s historic Bhairav Yatra in the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) of India, describing it as a proud moment for Jammu and Kashmir and congratulating the Rajouri District Administration and the Department of Culture for achieving the recognition.

 

In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor said the inclusion of the centuries-old pilgrimage in the national inventory would play a significant role in preserving and promoting the region’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage.

 

“Proud moment for Rajouri! The district’s historic Bhairav Yatra has officially been added to the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage of India. Congratulations to the Rajouri District Administration and the J&K Department of Culture for turning this dream into a reality,” Sinha said.

 

He said the prestigious recognition would go a long way in documenting, preserving and celebrating the area’s deep spiritual and cultural roots, while honouring generations of devotees who have kept the tradition alive.

 

The Lieutenant Governor said the inclusion of Bhairav Yatra in the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage would strengthen Rajouri’s unique cultural identity at the national level and create new opportunities for research, cultural exchange and sustainable heritage tourism.(KNZ/TMJ)
