J&K Govt Extends Summer Vacation for Schools Till July 26

Schools to reopen on July 27; decision taken in the interest of students’ and teachers’ safety amid prevailing weather conditions, says Education Minister Sakina Itoo.

Srinagar, July 21(KNZ/TMJ): The Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday extended the summer vacation for all government and recognised private schools in the Kashmir Division and the winter zones of Jammu Division till July 26.

Announcing the decision, Education Minister Sakina Itoo said the extension was approved keeping the safety and well-being of students, teachers and their families as the government’s foremost priority.

“Keeping the safety and well-being of students, teachers, and their families as our foremost priority, the summer vacation for all Government and recognized private schools in the Kashmir Division and Winter Zones of Jammu Division is hereby extended up to 26th July, 2026,” Itoo said in a post on X.

She said all schools covered under the order will now reopen on Monday, July 27.

The Minister also appealed to the public to remain cautious and comply with advisories issued by the concerned authorities.

“I request everyone to stay safe, remain vigilant, and follow the advisories issued by the concerned authorities. Wishing everyone good health and safety,” she added.(KNZ/TMJ)
