Joint Night Operation Against Illegal Mining: Seven Vehicles Seized in Ganderbal

Ganderbal, July 30 (KNZ/TMJ): In a major crackdown on illegal mining, the Geology and Mining Department, with the assistance of Ganderbal Police, conducted overnight enforcement raids across various parts of Ganderbal district and seized seven vehicles allegedly involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.

Officials said the operation was launched as part of the department’s sustained drive to curb illegal mining and ensure strict enforcement of mining laws. The seized vehicles have been taken into custody, and legal proceedings under the relevant provisions of law have been initiated.

An official said the department, in coordination with Ganderbal Police, will continue carrying out day and night enforcement drives in vulnerable areas to prevent the illegal exploitation of mineral resources.

The authorities reiterated that strict action will be taken against anyone found indulging in illegal mining or unauthorized transportation of minerals, while appealing to the public to cooperate in protecting the district’s natural resources and environment.KNZ/TMJ
