Ganderbal, Aug 15(KNZ/TMJ): A woman was seriously injured after being attacked by a black bear while cutting grass in her orchard at Mir Mohalla in Lar area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Saturday, locals said.
The injured woman was identified as Haneefa Bano, a resident of Lar, Ganderbal.
According to locals, Bano was working in her orchard when the bear suddenly attacked her, leaving her with serious injuries. She was subsequently shifted to a nearby health facility for treatment.
The incident has sparked concern among residents, who urged the authorities to take immediate measures to prevent further human-wildlife encounters in the area.(KNZ/TMJ)
