SRINAGAR, AUGUST 24: Vice Chairman (VC), JKLCMA, Khurshid Ahmad Shah, conducted a tour of the Hazratbal area to review the arrangements and preparedness ahead of the forthcoming Eid Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W).
The Vice Chairman was accompanied by the Superintending Engineer, Executive Engineers, XEN LD-II and Mechanical Division, along with all concerned AEEs and JEs.
During the visit, the Vice Chairman reviewed the functioning of the Intermediate Pumping Stations (IPSs) at Nigeen and Saderbal and directed the concerned officers to ensure their smooth and uninterrupted operation.
He also inspected the areas affected by water blockage and choking of drains and directed the concerned staff to undertake immediate clearance measures to ensure proper drainage and prevent water accumulation.
The issue of leakage in the parking area near the Hazratbal Shrine was also reviewed. The Vice Chairman directed the concerned officers to take necessary corrective measures at the earliest.
He further inspected the ablution pond and directed the concerned staff to ensure its thorough cleaning and proper maintenance before the Eid Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W) celebrations.
The Vice Chairman also directed the field staff to maintain cleanliness and proper upkeep of the Hazratbal lakefront, particularly in view of the expected gathering of devotees and visitors during the occasion.
Khurshid Ahmad Shah emphasized that all identified issues should be addressed on priority and directed the concerned officers and field staff to ensure proper cleanliness, drainage, sanitation and maintenance in and around the Hazratbal area during the occasion.
