Ganderbal, September 4: Janmashtami was celebrated with religious fervor in Ganderbal today.
As part of the celebrations, a traditional procession was taken out by local Pandit devotees from the historic temple at Nunnar. The procession passed through the area and culminated peacefully at the Devraj Temple in Chapergund.
A devotee said that Janmashtami is a significant occasion for the community and expressed happiness over the peaceful celebrations. The devotee also thanked the district administration and local residents for their support and prayed for peace, brotherhood and communal harmony.
A large number of devotees, including men, women and children, participated in the procession and chanted religious prayers throughout the journey. .

The Pandit community expressed gratitude to the district administration and local residents for their support in ensuring the smooth conduct of the celebrations.
Meanwhile, foolproof security and other necessary arrangements were put in place by the district administration and police to ensure the peaceful celebration of Janmashtami.
