Police Sub-Inspector Booked For Drug Consumption In Kathua, Medical Test Confirms Intoxication

Kathua, Sep 08 (GNS): A Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) posted at a police station in Kathua district has been booked under the NDPS Act after he was allegedly found under the influence of an intoxicating substance on police station premises.

 

According to official case details, PSI Amjid Khan (GEC No. 245791) was observed behaving in a manner suggesting consumption of an intoxicating substance. He was subsequently medically examined at SDH Hiranagar, where a drug-testing kit was used.

 

The medical examination indicated consumption of a narcotic/contraband substance, officials said.

 

Following the examination, FIR No. 97/2026 under Sections 8/27 of the NDPS Act was registered at the concerned police station. The investigation has been entrusted to PSI Rajat Jasrotia (No. 196315/EXJ), they added.(GNS)
