Baramulla September 23: Acting on complaints and directions regarding harassment and overcharging of tourists and visitors by commercial passenger vehicles, including Sumos and Autos, J&K Police conducted a special enforcement drive in the jurisdiction of Police Station Tangmarg.

During the drive, six vehicles found involved in violations were seized under the relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. The action forms part of Police’s continued efforts to ensure fair, safe and hassle-free movement of tourists and visitors and to prevent practices that adversely affect the public and tourism environment.

Police has made it clear that harassment, overcharging or exploitation of tourists and visitors will not be tolerated. Enforcement against such violations shall continue, and strict action will be taken against those found violating the law.
