Ganderbal, September 23: Strong winds swept across parts of Ganderbal and adjoining areas on Wednesday, disrupting electricity supply at several locations and causing damage and obstructions to power infrastructure.

Amid challenging weather conditions, frontline field personnel of the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) worked through the night to clear fallen trees and other obstructions and restore power supply to affected areas.

Among those involved in the restoration operation were PDD/KPDCL employees Fayaz Magray, Riyaz and other field staff, who remained on the ground despite strong winds, darkness and difficult working conditions.

The teams carried out tree-clearing and restoration work in Wayil, Sehpora, Chapergund and adjoining areas, removing obstructions from power lines and carrying out the necessary repairs to facilitate the restoration of electricity.

The field personnel continued their efforts until power supply was restored in the affected areas, ensuring that residents did not remain without electricity for an extended period amid the adverse weather.

Their overnight efforts highlighted the demanding role of frontline power employees, who often work under difficult and potentially hazardous conditions to maintain and restore essential electricity services.

Residents of Wayil, Sehpora, Chapergund and surrounding areas appreciated the efforts of the KPDCL/PDD field staff, particularly for responding promptly and continuing restoration work despite the challenging weather conditions.
