Ganderbal, September 24: A 45-year-old woman was injured after being attacked by a wild bear near her residence in Anderwan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday.
The woman, identified as Najeeba Bano, wife of Shabir Ahmad Awan, sustained injuries to her head in the bear attack.
Following the incident, she was immediately shifted to SKIMS Soura for specialised medical treatment. Her condition and further details regarding the incident are awaited.
The incident has caused concern among residents of the area, who have urged the concerned authorities to take necessary measures to prevent further movement of wild animals into residential areas.
