Ganderbal, September 29: The newly elected body of the Ganderbal Press Association (GPA) on Tuesday nominated Aqib Rasool as the Spokesperson of the Association following the oath-taking ceremony of its newly elected office-bearers.

The oath ceremony was held for the President, Vice President, General Secretary and Treasurer of the association in the presence of members and other guests.

After the ceremony, the elected body unanimously nominated Aqib Rasool as spokesperson of the GPA, entrusting him with the responsibility of representing the association and conveying its official views and statements to the media and the public.

The association said the spokesperson will coordinate with media organisations, communicate official decisions of the GPA and help strengthen communication between the association, its members and concerned stakeholders.

The newly elected body expressed confidence that the appointment would contribute to better coordination, transparency and effective representation of the association.

The GPA also reiterated its commitment to promoting professional journalism, supporting the interests of working journalists and maintaining unity and cooperation among its members.
