Witnesses J&K’s chase against Rest of India; hosts bowled out for 111

 

 

Srinagar, Oct 04 (KNO): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday visited the Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar and witnessed the fourth day’s play of the Irani Cup between Jammu and Kashmir and Rest of India.

 

Sinha, as per the details collected by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), watched the contest as J&K pursued a target of 279 runs in their second innings in the five-day encounter, being hosted in Srinagar for the first time.

 

However, J&K’s chase ended in disappointment as the hosts were bowled out for 111 in 28.4 overs in the second session, handing Rest of India a 167-run victory on Day 4.

 

The match marks the first time that the prestigious Irani Cup is being played in Srinagar.—(KNO)
