Ganderbal October 17: Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Police in Ganderbal arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession in the jurisdiction of Police Station Lar.
A police party of PS Lar during naka checking at Yangoora Crossing apprehended Naseer Ahmad Beigh son of Ali Mohd Beigh son of Wangipora, who attempted to flee after noticing the police party. During his search, contraband charas-like substance was recovered from his possession. Accordingly, a Case vide FIR No. 29/2026, under relevant sections of the NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Lar, and further investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source of the contraband and establish any possible links in drug trafficking.
Police reiterates its firm commitment to eradicate the drug menace from society and urges the general public to cooperate with the police by sharing credible information regarding drug trafficking and substance abuse.
