GANDERBAL, OCTOBER 21, 2026: Ganderbal Police observed Police Commemoration Day with solemnity and reverence at Qamariya Stadium, Ganderbal, to honour the brave police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty while serving the nation.

The ceremony was chaired by SSP Ganderbal, Shri Harshal Rajesh Mahajan-IPS, who took the ceremonial salute and read out the names of the martyrs, paying tribute to their supreme sacrifice and unwavering commitment to the nation.

The commemoration parade featured contingents from District Police Ganderbal, JKAP, CAPFs, the L/Ct. Battalion and the District Police Pipe Band, reflecting discipline, unity and respect for the fallen heroes.

During the wreath-laying ceremony, SSP Ganderbal, senior police officers, officers of the civil administration and family members of the martyrs laid floral tributes to honour the departed personnel and acknowledge their invaluable contribution to the security and service of the nation.

An interactive session was also held with the families of the martyrs, during which SSP Ganderbal patiently listened to their concerns and grievances. He assured them that genuine issues would be addressed promptly, while matters pertaining to the civil administration would be taken up with the concerned authorities for appropriate action.

Concluding the ceremony, SSP Ganderbal expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the martyr families and all dignitaries present on the occasion. He reaffirmed the department’s enduring respect for the sacrifices of its brave personnel and reiterated Ganderbal Police’s commitment to standing by the families of the martyrs.

The observance served as a solemn reminder of the courage, dedication and supreme sacrifices of police personnel who laid down their lives in the service of the nation.
