ANANTNAG, SEP 04: The District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik today chaired a meeting of the officers of different municipalities of the district to review their working.
The meeting was attended by Chief Executive Officer MC Anantnag, EOs of Bijbehara, Pahalgam, Qazigund, Dooru, Kokernag and Achabal.
The DDC called upon the officers that the government has already embarked on sanitation and cleanliness drives through Swachch Bharat Abhiyan throughout the country and the municipalities have to work vigorously in this direction.
Meanwhile, the DDC also directed the officers to activate their men and machinery for ensuring free-polythene district and said that there should be intensification of market checks.
The EOs of municipalities were asked to ensure the timely repairment of street lights so that people, at large, do not suffer on this account.
The DDC also directed for checking the illegal construction within the municipal limits of the towns so that unplanned and unsustainable constructions are checked.
