Ganderbal 17 Sept 【KNZ】:As part of the nation-wide cleanliness drive, the Indian Army today launched the cleanliness drive – “Swachhata Hi Sewa” from Sonamarg to Thajwas Glacier tourist area in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal District

 

This cleanliness drive is a fortnight programme starting from 15th of September to 2nd of October, 2017 under which a variety of activities shall be adopted for sanitation and educating the people about the significance of cleanliness.

 

On the occasion, GOC 31Sub Area of indian army said that we are bestowed with serene and beautiful environment and our responsibility is to preserve the nature and natural resources. He said that our district has valuable water resources and their preservation and conservation is our utmost duty.

He said that our Kashmir has right to clean environment and we are duty-bound to ensure that every individual lives in clean environment.

He sought the cooperation of the people in making this drive a successful one.
He appealed them to discontinue the use of polythene and set an example to make the district polythene-free district.

 

The citizens and many schools will participate in the sanitation activities during 18 days campaign that will culminate on Gandhi Jayanti i.e. 2nd oct 2017. During the time the Swachtta Hi Seva” sanitation drive will be observed on daily basis starting from today 17th September where indian army and other civil members in district participated.
