A four-year-old girl was killed and her elder brother injured in a fire incident in Bandipora district of north Kashmir on Monday.
Locals said that Safeena was killed while her brother Tanveer Ahmad (8) suffered burn injuries after fire engulfed their house in Tanghat village of the district.
“We tried to rescue them but could not save Safeena. She had grievous burn injuries and died on the spot. Tanveer received some burn injuries and was hospitalised,” they said.
Locals said that their parents were not at home when the house caught fire.
The cause of fire was not immediately known.
