Student Special by Ehsaan Yousf

JKBOSE 12th class: The JK Board of School Education (BOSE) has constituted a five member committee and asked them to come up with a report regarding the complaints by class 12th students that their Chemistry paper was out of syllabus. Chairman BOSE Veena Pandita said they have constituted a committee to investigate into the matter and submit a report to the BOSE for further action.
“I have asked the committee to invite subject experts from KASHMIR VALLEY who will examine the difficulty level of the paper and also check whether any question was out of syllabus or not,” Pandita said.

It may be recalled that class 12th students on Monday after appearing in their Chemistry paper complained of high standard and out of syllabus paper.

The students said that the questions posed in Chemistry paper were at par with JE Mains exams while as some question posed in the paper were not within the prescribed syllabus.

The students complained that the pattern of question paper was also changed without informing the students. The complaints continued to pour in on Tuesday with students stating that they are not able to concentrate on their next paper.

“I am in depression since appeared in my CHEMISTRY PAPER. Most of the questions were out of syllabus. We were not given any choice. I can’t prepare for my next paper because I am still mourning over my marks. It has brought my confidence level to ground,” said one of the complainants.

Chairman BOSE also acknowledged that students were complaining about Chemistry paper.
“I also received SEVERAL EMAILS from students. They had mentioned about high standard, out of syllabus paper but none of the students is able to say how many questions were actually out of syllabus,” Pandita said

She said the committee has been tasked to look on every aspect of the complaints and submit its report in a stipulated time.
“It will take almost 08 to 09 DAYS for committee to submit its report and warranted action will follow. Whatever will be GENUINE we will do that,” she said.
