Srinagar, June 29 (GNS):Students of Kashmir University on Friday urged varsity to postpone examinations secluded on Saturday, June 30.A number of students called GNS, stating that it was difficult for them to appear in the examinations tomorrow as they will constantly have to look for their own safety as well as respective families incase flood situation worsens.A number of students putting up in a rented accommodation at Hazratbal, close to varsity’s main campus, said they are in distress as“families back home at peril.”“We may have to rush to our homes early tomorrow if the (flood) situation deteriorates and it would be difficult for us to appear in examination,” they said.Parents of some girl students, undergoing LLB course, also urged university authorities to defer the tomorrow’s examination. “I along with my daughters is putting up in a rented accommodation here while I am receiving calls from home to come back. If university postpones exams, I would be in position to help family in this movement of crisis,” said Gulzar Ahmad, a resident of Sangam Anantnag. another parent said that it would be difficult of his daughter to appear inexamination in wake of the present ‘distressing’ situation’.Meanwhile, despite repeated attempts, controller examination or PRO of the university could not be contacted.
